This is so true. I always compared physical intimacy with verbal intimacy. Like we hide our private body parts, we hide out private affairs. Sharing personal deep secrets is like getting naked in front of someone to make love.

This line hit me hard: "I can not only talk about difficult emotions like anger and sadness, but I can feel them in front of him, even feel them towards him."

Not just sharing emotions, but actually feeling them with each other. Can totally relate with this. Thanks for sharing Kasra.

it's scary to get angry at someone because it's so vulnerable, because you're showing them that you are hurt and in that moment, feeling weak. i believe that you only really show your anger at someone you trust, and someone you subconsciously know will not leave. i actually went through this recently with a close friend - i felt hurt by her, but instead of telling her, i just ranted to a friend about it first. later i got the courage to tell her but when we called, i started crying out of nowhere. i think because it felt so vulnerable and scary to be seen like that.
