Thank you. As a perpetual host, I agree w everything that is required to be one, but the rewards are so worth it.

Thinking a lot about this lately- around creating spaces that you want to be a part of. Beautifully written and thought provoking

Love this! And I love the question 'What does a “you”-shaped party look like?' One of mine might be something like an early morning gathering that involves walking + bird spotting

I dig it dood. I have such a sour image of cities, but I want to work through that because I know it’s possible for beautiful connections to happen there too. I def want to attend an event when I make it back to that neck of the woods

This is a timely piece of write-up for me as of late I have been trying to find ways to have fun without drinking and spending money. The ideas of gatherings will immediately be put on a roaster to be tried for the coming weekend. Thanks

What a thoughtful and a ponder-full post? 💛 So many things to love, take back and reflect.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about what an interplay of serendipity, play, reflection and connection look like locally but also if we are able to cross-pollinate themed living essentials across borders?

How might we make the hosts’/ gatherers’ lives easier? What tools, what resources, do we need a community of gatherers to seek cheer, inspo, energy and ideas from each other?

Towards these 2 personal quests - am actively seeking to meet hosts and create curated experiences across 10-12 cities and collect learnings, opportunities and challenges. Maybe they point towards something one can envision to solve. First for depth, then if possible, for scale.

All this for what? For a personal, selfish quest - to increase my own blast radius of serendipity and connection.

Am bookmarking this to re-read many times!

I’d love to connect and chat more, interested if you could share your experiences in more depth.

Thank you!

PS: am totally stealing the idea of “notes” to do more uncomfortable things!
